server offline?..

is the server offline?, because every time i try to log in, it says 'server updating.' i tried everything, reloading client, trying a different account, and other stuff. but.. the thing is.. i can't get online no matter what..
i even try again in like 5 minutes and its the same.. takes like 20 seconds to attempt logging in, and just says its updating again.. im not ip-banned or anything am i?
please help :S
